Laser hair removal for menLook for appointment times
Laser hair removal for men is a popular and modern laser procedure that allows men to permanently remove unwanted hair from any part of the body. With this method, the hair is removed along with the follicle and the follicle is damaged, which implies complete cessation of further hair growth. Laser hair removal for men is performed only by certified personnel with higher medical education at Confido Aesthetic Medicine Clinic.
The laser beam affects melanin and heats the hair. As a result, the cells that nourish the hair are destroyed and the hair falls out. This procedure prevents the formation and growth of new hair. After a course of 6-10 procedures, the amount of hair in the epilation area is reduced by 90%.
If a man does not like constant shaving or his profession requires frequent exposure of the body and body hair is undesirable (dancing, sports, public speaking), laser hair removal is a convenient solution. The procedure is also recommended for men with increased body hair growth, causing discomfort (excessive sweating). Medical indications for laser hair removal in men are individual intolerance to shaving devices, recurrent folliculitis, a large number of ingrown hairs or a personal desire to epilate.
- Face (eyebrow shaping, cheek hairline, sideburns, upper lip, chin or entire face)
- Groin area
- Open wounds or inflammation in the area that needs epilation
- Infection on the skin in the area that needs epilation
- HIV infection
- Cancerous diseases
- A large number of moles in the area that needs epilation
- Acute colds, high fever
- Diabetes mellitus
- Varicose veins, herpes, psoriasis in the area where hair removal will be performed
- Age under 16
The final decision on the procedure is made by a Confido Aesthetic Medicine Clinic doctor or nurse during an individual examination and consultation immediately before the procedure.
The laser beam selectively targets the hair pigment melanin. In the process of short-term heating, the cells nourishing the hair are destroyed and the hair falls out. The laser beam does not damage the skin and affect only the hair follicles in the stage of active growth, so pain is minimal. The procedure takes 5 to 50 minutes, depending on the volume of hair to be removed. The recommended interval between treatments is four to six weeks.
The skin in the area where laser hair removal will be performed is cleansed. If necessary, additional air anaesthesia is applied to the desired area (the air flow is cooled to a temperature of minus 20 degrees, but in the vast majority of cases this is not required). The eyes of the patient are protected from the laser beam with glasses. The laser procedure is then carried out, which is felt as a tingling sensation. After the procedure, the area of the skin on which the epilation was carried out can be treated with an antiseptic and, if necessary, additional cooling and a regenerating remedy are applied.
As a result of laser hair removal, there will be a decrease in the amount of hair in the area the procedure was performed. As a result of the procedure, some hair will fall out immediately, some within the next few days. After a course of 6-10 procedures, the amount of hair will be reduced by 90%. The recommended interval between treatments is approximately six weeks. We recommend repeating the procedures until the hair disappears completely. The exact number of procedures depends on the individual characteristics of the hairline.
The laser beam acts only on mature follicles in the stage of active growth. As new hair grows back, laser hair removal should be repeated. Avoid visiting the solarium and being in the open sun two to three weeks before the procedure. Two to three weeks before the procedure, you should stop removing hair by pulling (tweezers, sugaring, wax, epilation). One day before the procedure, you should shave off the hair in the area the laser hair removal will be carried out with an ordinary razor. On the day of the procedure, do not use cosmetics in the area laser hair removal will be performed (deodorants, creams, etc.)
Immediately after the procedure, the patient can return to their daily life. There may be slight redness on the skin, which will disappear in the next two to four hours. Avoid the sun or tanning beds for 14 days after your procedure. Also use the antiseptic agent recommended to you by your Confido Aesthetic Medicine Clinic doctor or nurse. The result lasts for a long time. In some cases, hair follicles naturally regenerate over time, this period depends on the individual characteristics of the patient and varies from two to six years.
