Biostimulation Radiesse

Look for appointment times

Aesthetic clinic nurses perform injection procedures under the supervision of a doctor.

Radiesse biostimulation is a skin rejuvenation procedure used to improve skin quality, support tissues, and correct structural changes associated with ageing. Unlike conventional hyaluronic acid-based filler injections, the effect of Radiesse® is not based solely on adding volume, but primarily on stimulating the body’s own collagen and elastin production. The aim is to improve tissue quality and restore the skin structure in a natural way.

Radiesse® contains calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) – a biologically compatible substance that is naturally found in human bone and dental tissue. After injection, the product acts as a temporary support structure in the tissues and initiates the process of new collagen formation. Over time, the product breaks down and is naturally eliminated from the body, while the collagen stimulated by it remains in the tissues.

Radiesse may be suitable for the following changes:

  • skin laxity in the lower face and jawline
  • decrease in volume and support of the cheeks and temple area
  • decrease in skin elasticity of the neck
  • signs of ageing in the décolletage area
  • thinning of the skin on the backs of the hands
  • general decrease in skin density and quality.

Consult a specialist regarding the suitability of the procedure.

The injectable gel provides immediate structural support to the treated area. Calcium hydroxylapatite stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen, elastin, and other components that form the skin’s support structures. Collagen formation continues gradually over the weeks and months following the procedure. As a result, skin density, firmness, and elasticity improve, and tissue laxity decreases.

Results develop gradually and usually become more noticeable within 2-3 months after the procedure. The duration of the results depends on the treated area, individual characteristics, and the technique used; the effect may last for 12-18 months or longer. To achieve the best result, it is recommended to repeat the procedure after 1-2 months.

Contraindications

Radiesse biostimulation is not suitable for everyone. The procedure is not performed or is postponed in the following conditions:

  • Active inflammations, infections, including herpes
  • Chronic skin diseases in the treated area
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Oncological diseases
  • Tendency to develop keloid scars
  • Blood coagulation disorders
  • Pregnancy, breastfeeding (at least 1 month must have passed since the end of breastfeeding)
  • Allergy or hypersensitivity to the active substances (to be clarified with the specialist)
  • The procedure is not performed during antibiotic treatment (at least 2 weeks must have passed since completion of treatment)

Contraindications may be relative, and the final decision regarding performance of the procedure is made by the specialist during an individual examination and consultation before the procedure.

How to prepare for the procedure?
  • Consult a specialist before the procedure regarding the suitability of the procedure, possible results, and the possibility of combining treatments;
  • There must be an interval of at least 2 weeks between other procedures in the treated area and vaccination;
  • Avoid sunbathing for at least 7 days before the procedure;
  • Alcohol consumption is not recommended for at least 1 day before the procedure;
  • If you take medications, inform us about this before coming to the procedure.
  • If possible, we recommend not taking blood-thinning medications for about 1 week before the procedure (including Aspirin, Hjertemagnyl), and also not taking supplements containing fish oil and vitamin E for 3 days before injections (they increase the formation of bruises or bleeding);
  • Before the injection procedure, it is advisable to eat a light meal to avoid dizziness and a feeling of faintness caused by low blood sugar and psychological fear.
What to consider after the procedure?
  • After injection, redness, bruising, swelling, skin sensitivity or numbness may occur;
  • Avoid massaging and pressing on the injection site for 12-24 hours after the procedure;
  • Do not use makeup products for at least 12 hours after the injection procedure;
  • Do not touch the injected area for a few hours to avoid infection;
  • Avoid other procedures in the injection area for at least 2 weeks;
  • Alcohol consumption is not recommended for at least 1 day after the procedure;
  • Intensive sports are not recommended for a few days after injection (risk of new haematomas and swelling);
  • Avoid going to the sauna and taking a hot bath for 1 week;
  • Avoid sunbathing for 2 weeks, including solarium;
  • There must be an interval of at least 2 weeks with vaccination.
