Breast lift surgery, also known as mastopexy, is a surgical procedure aimed at improving and lifting sagging breasts. This procedure helps restore a more youthful appearance and shape to the breasts and may also correct breast asymmetry.

Breast sagging can occur for several reasons, including pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight loss, aging, or genetic factors. During a breast lift surgery, excess skin is removed, breast tissues are tightened, and the breasts are lifted upwards. Depending on the specific situation, the addition of breast implants or correction of asymmetry may also be necessary.

The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and typically lasts a few hours. The recovery period after breast lift surgery can vary, but patients usually need to wear a special supportive bra and avoid physical exertion for several weeks. The initial recovery period is about one to two weeks, but complete healing can take several months.

Breast lift and augmentation with implants, also known as mastopexy with augmentation, is a surgical procedure in which breast sagging is corrected while breast volume is increased with implants. The aim of the procedure is to lift the breasts, improve their shape and symmetry, and create a fuller and more proportionate appearance.

Breast sagging and loss of volume may occur due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, significant weight loss, ageing, or genetic factors. In such cases, combining the two procedures allows both the position and volume of the breasts to be corrected.

During the surgery, excess skin is removed, the breast tissue is reshaped and lifted, and the position of the nipple and areola is adjusted if necessary. Breast implants of a suitable size and shape are then placed. The type and size of the implants, as well as the surgical technique, are selected individually according to the patient’s anatomy and desired outcome. Breast asymmetry can also be corrected during the surgery if necessary.

The surgery is performed under general anaesthesia and usually takes two to three hours. During the recovery period, a special supportive bra should be worn, and physical exertion and heavy lifting should be avoided for several weeks. Initial recovery usually takes one to two weeks, but the final breast shape and implant position develop gradually over several months.
