Gynecomastia – Breast reduction for men
Look for appointment timesGynecomastia surgery is a surgical procedure designed to correct enlarged male breasts (gynecomastia). Gynecomastia can be caused by various factors, including hormonal changes, accumulation of fat, or side effects of medications.
During the surgery, excess breast tissue or fat is removed to restore a more masculine appearance and contour to the breasts. The procedure may also involve removal of glandular tissue or liposuction, depending on the type and extent of gynecomastia.
Gynecomastia surgery is performed under general anesthesia, and the duration depends on the specific case. After the surgery, the patient is required to wear a special compression vest or supportive garment to aid in the healing process and reduce swelling. The recovery time can vary, but typically, the patient can return to normal activities within a few weeks.
