Vaginal laser therapy

Look for appointment times

Vaginal laser therapy MonaLisa Touch® activates blood circulation and cellular function in the vaginal mucosa, stimulating collagen production and thus restoring its elasticity and strength. The procedure reduces dryness, itching and tingling, alleviates mild urinary incontinence, improves genital appearance and the quality of the sex life. Changes due to decreased elasticity of collagen fibres can occur as a result of natural ageing as well as childbirth or surgical trauma.

Rejuvenation of the vaginal mucosa is performed with the DEKA MonaLisa Touch® laser. This method is highly esteemed in global practice. During the procedure, a special probe is inserted into the vagina, through which laser beams are applied in a circular motion to the entire length of the vaginal mucosa. The laser acts on collagen and elastin fibres 4-5 mm deep in the inner layers of the vaginal mucosa, renewing its contractility and functionality. The procedure is painless and does not require anaesthesia.

Vaginal laser therapy cannot be performed:

  • during pregnancy
  • in the first two months after giving birth
  • in the case of an acute untreated genital or pelvic infection or suspected sexually transmitted infection
  • untreated cervical cancer or during its treatment

The laser procedure is not restricted by an intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD), breastfeeding, menopause or other chronic illnesses and treatments.

How to prepare for the procedure?

Before starting the MonaLisa Touch® laser treatment, it is necessary to see the doctor who will carry out the procedure. You will be advised on the procedure, and a gynaecological examination, ultrasound scan and any necessary analyses will be performed.

It is not recommended to have the procedure during menstruation.

What should you take into consideration after the procedure?

  • Avoid having sex for three days
  • Avoid intense physical exercise for three days
  • Avoid baths, pools and saunas for three days
  • Increased watery vaginal discharge may occur for five to seven days after the procedure, which does not require further treatment
  • In rare cases, acute fatigue, weakness or fever may occur.

If you have any complaints after laser therapy, please contact the doctor who performed the procedure through customer support.

It is recommended to undergo a treatment course of 3 procedures at 1-month intervals. In the future, we recommend repeating the procedure, depending on the complaints after 1 year.

Laser treatment should be started at the reception of Paula Pärna, the gynaecologist performing the procedure.
