Teeth whitening
Teeth whitening helps to improve the overall appearance of your teeth.
At Confido Dental Clinics, we use the Biolase laser for teeth whitening. Biolase laser technology is fast, effective and safe, and does not make teeth overly sensitive. A special whitening gel is activated using laser radiation, which speeds up the whitening process and provides a noticeably brighter result in just one session.
To ensure the best possible result, the teeth whitening procedure is preceded by a thorough consultation.
Why come for a teeth whitening consultation?
Teeth whitening is not suitable for everyone and the results depend on several factors, such as the natural shade of the teeth, the condition of the enamel, fillings or crowns, and the overall health of your mouth. Therefore, a specialist may refer you to other necessary procedures before teeth whitening, such as professional teeth cleaning or caries treatment.
During the consultation
- the condition of your teeth and gums will be assessed;
- tooth shade variations and the location of existing fillings or crowns will be evaluated;
- your expectations and the potential outcome will be discussed;
- whitening methods (in-office or at-home whitening) will be introduced;
- we will explain how long the procedure will take, how often it needs to be done, and what the cost will be;
- recommendations for maintaining the results will be given.
Teeth whitening is suitable for adults who have
- tooth discoloration caused by diet or lifestyle factors;
- the desire to achieve a more aesthetic smile.
Teeth whitening is not allowed
- during pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- for patients under 18 years of age;
- for patients with sensitive teeth;
- for patients with fillings or crowns on their front teeth.
A professional teeth cleaning must have been done within the last six months.
What to do after teeth whitening?
In the days following the procedure, the enamel is temporarily more sensitive and porous. To ensure lasting results, we recommend the following:
- Avoid coloured foods for at least 48 hours after the procedure.
- Avoid tobacco products. Nicotine causes severe discolouration and affects the duration of the whitening results.
- Use toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth. We recommend a toothpaste containing potassium nitrate or fluoride.
- Drink plenty of water and maintain good oral hygiene. A clean mouth helps maintain the whitening effect and reduces irritation.
- Repeat the whitening treatment as needed.
Results usually last 6–12 months, depending on diet and oral hygiene. Whitening can be repeated as desired, but no more frequently than recommended.
We accept patients from the age of 18 for the teeth whitening procedure.
Before the teeth whitening procedure, a professional dental cleaning must have been performed within the last six months. In some cases, treatment of dental caries may also be necessary before whitening.
