Consultation with the dermatologist

Look for appointment times

A dermatologist, also known as a dermatovenereologist, specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of various skin and sexually transmitted diseases, including the diagnosis of skin conditions and the examination of moles. Our dermatologist can also provide an expert assessment of a previously diagnosed condition and its treatment.

When to seek an appointment with a dermatologist

Skin problems are frequently the first sign of more severe problems in the body. Both children and adults with various skin diseases or skin growths or those seeking mole checks are welcome to visit a dermatologist. Additionally, if there is a history of skin cancer in your family, it is advisable to visit a dermatologist. Removal of warts, corns, skin tags and other skin growths can also be performed, if necessary.

When a person consults a dermatologist, the reason may be atypical changes in the skin or mucous membranes, itching, a burning sensation, swelling of the skin or a variety of rashes (including in children and young people). It is strongly recommended to visit a dermatologist if there are suspicions of new growths or if warts or moles are increasing in size.

Preparation for the appointment

Prepare a list of medications you have used in the last six months. Avoid using creams and ointments before the visit and try to avoid fatty and spicy foods.

During the dermatologist appointment

During the appointment, the dermatologist may ask questions about the medications you use, your lifestyle and any hereditary diseases. If necessary, tests or additional examinations may be prescribed to further clarify the diagnosis.

This service can also be booked through the national Patient Portal »
