The abdominal pain consultations are meant for complaints regarding long-lasting and/or unexplained chronical abdominal pain. The consultation is fitting for people who have been dealing with abdominal pain for years, may have previously visited a doctor and had examinations, but have not had a solution to the problem. Consultations are meant for patients from the age of 18.

Chronic abdominal pain is one of the most frequent symptoms with which patients turn to a gastroenterologist. Chronic abdominal pain does not have a specific definition, it is described as a constant or intermittent feeling of discomfort in the abdominal area that lasts at least six months and does not respond to conventional relief methods. Such abdominal pain can be caused by either an organic disease or a functional disorder. Diagnosing the causes of chronic abdominal pain requires an understanding of the mechanisms of pain, knowledge of typical manifestations and very good differential diagnostic skills.

Abdominal pain reception is conducted by dr. Marko Ölluk. Dr. Ölluk is a family doctor by profession, who has trained in various clinical specialties, such as emergency medicine, internal medicine and functional cardiology.

If necessary, the patient is referred to a gastroenterologist.
