Test package for evaluating immunity

Look for appointment times

The test package that evaluates immunity provides a comprehensive overview by analysing 17 different blood indicators:

  • How your body copes with various viral diseases
  • Reasons for falling ill frequently
  • Lifestyle characteristics or previous illnesses that have affected your immunity
  • Whether you have recovered completely from a repeated infectious disease
  • Whether you get enough vitamins and minerals daily or if it is necessary for you to take additional supplements to support your immunity and guarantee a healthier body
  • Whether there is any inflammation in your body and whether you have enough antibodies for immune protection (including coronavirus antibodies)

Blood tests are one way to assess the body’s resistance by finding out whether your diet is varied and ensuring a sufficient amount of nutrients (e.g. proteins), minerals (iron, zinc, selenium) and vitamins (vitamins D, A, B12, C, folate) necessary for the normal functioning of the immune system. The package that evaluates immunity includes tests based on which you can get an overview of whether haematopoiesis and the general amount of immune cells in the blood is in order (full blood count), whether there is inflammation in the body (hsCRP) and whether the level of antibodies and specific components necessary for immune protection in the body is sufficient (IgG, IgA, IgM, C3 and C4).

Long-term favourable habits such as a varied diet, physical activity, adequate sleep, maintaining a healthy weight, not smoking, etc., help keep the immune system healthy and strong. Age, heredity and previous illnesses also play an important role.

However, there are many factors that affect the body’s resistance in our surrounding environment that can disrupt the functioning of the body’s immune system temporarily or for a longer period of time. A decrease in resistance during life is called acquired immunodeficiency. Such a decrease in protective ability may not be permanent and if the cause is eliminated, the normal functioning of the immune system will also be restored. Immunodeficiency can also be congenital or hereditary and caused by gene defects, fetal development disorders, etc. In this case, it is called primary immunodeficiency, which usually manifests itself in the first year of life.

The test package for evaluating immunity includes 17 blood indicators:

  1. Complete blood count with a five-part differential leukocyte (white blood cell) count
    – Provides a general overview of the condition of the body
    – Allows diagnosis and monitoring of various illnesses and conditions that influence blood cells, such as anaemia, infection, inflammation, haemorrhagic disorders, and tumours
    – Helps to get an overview of the state of the immune system
    – Indicates the blood’s ability to transfer oxygen
  2. C-reactive protein (high-sensitivity)
    – Helps detect inflammation
  3. Ferritin
    – Ferritin level indicates the body’s iron stores
    – An optimal level of iron in the blood contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system
  4. Folate
    – A normal level of folate in the blood contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system
    – Folate deficiency can cause anaemia or neuropathy
  5. Protein
    – Protein is found in the composition of cells of all animal and plant origin
    – It has an important role in ensuring the growth, construction and development of the organism
    – Protein is produced in the liver
  6. Complement component C3
    – A normal level of complement components in the blood indicates a good functioning of the immune system
    – Elevation in the level of complement components indicates possible acute inflammation
    – A low level in the blood indicates an immune system reaction initiated by a disease
  7. Complement component C4
    – A normal level of complement components in the blood indicates a good functioning of the immune system
    – Elevation in the level of complement components indicates possible acute inflammation
    – A low level in the blood indicates an immune system reaction initiated by a disease
  8. Zinc (Zn) in blood
    – Zinc is an essential element in approximately 300 enzymes
    – Ensures the development of cells of the immune system and a normal immune response
  9. Selenium (Se) in blood
    – Selenium is necessary for the normal functioning of the immune system
    – An important component in the composition of enzymes that protect the body from the damaging effects of oxidative stress
    – Protects the body from the toxicity of heavy metals
  10. Immunoglobulin A
    – IgA is an antibody that protects the body’s mucous membranes against bacteria and viruses
  11. Immunoglobulin G
    – The most important antibody or immune globulin in the body that provides protection against various infectious agents
    – The production of IgG antibodies is also induced after vaccination
  12. Quantitative test for detection of coronavirus IgG antibodies
    – Shows the presence of coronavirus antibodies and their numerical level
  13. Immunoglobulin M
    – IgM type antibodies are the first to appear when an infectious agent enters the body, and their level is elevated in acute periods of disease
  14. Vitamin A
    – Fat-soluble vitamin A is the so-called anti-inflammatory vitamin
    – It plays an important role in boosting the immune system
  15. Vitamin B12
    – Vitamin B12 contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system by activating, in particular, those cells of the immune system that fight against viruses and tumour cells
    – Vitamin B12 deficiency may cause anaemia and nervous system disorders
  16. Vitamin C
    – Contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system and protects the cells from the harmful effect of oxidative stress
  17. Vitamin D (25-OH)
    – When vitamin D level is low, the body’s resistance to pathogens decreases.
An important vitamin for the normal development of bones and teeth

The results will be available in 10 working days. The nurse will communicate the results in the agreed upon manner (by e-mail or telephone) and, if necessary, refer the patient to an appointment with a specialist (not included in the package).

On the day before the blood donation, you can eat and drink as usual, but limit the consumption of alcohol, coffee and fatty foods. Do not eat or drink 10-14 hours before giving blood. If necessary, you can drink one glass of pure unflavored still water during this time.

In order to interpret the analysis results, we recommend remote consultation with a doctor.
