Computed tomography (CT)

Computed tomography (CT)

A computed tomography (CT) examination is a radiological imaging technique that uses ionising radiation to obtain layered and three-dimensional images of the human body. The amount of radiation used in the examination is higher than in a regular X-ray scan, so CT scans are performed only when there is a specific indication.

Please note!

  • Ionising radiation is used for CT scans. We are constantly working to reduce radiation exposure so that the examinations are carried out with the lowest possible dose of radiation.
  • Computed tomography scans are only performed with a doctor’s referral for a specific indication.
  • CT scans are performed from the age of 15.
  • Confido does not perform CT scans of coronary arteries.
