Look for appointment timesEndoscopic bladder stone crushing is a procedure used to treat bladder stones. Bladder stones are mineral deposits that form in the bladder and can cause pain, discomfort, and other symptoms of urinary tract diseases. During the procedure, a small, flexible endoscope is inserted through the urethra into the bladder. The endoscope is equipped with a camera that allows the surgeon to see the stones and a device that uses shock waves to crush the stones into smaller pieces that are easier to pass out of the body in urine.
This procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia, and patients may require a short hospital stay for monitoring and pain relief. Endoscopic bladder stone crushing is considered a safe and effective treatment for bladder stones, with a low risk of complications such as bleeding or infection. However, like any medical procedure, it has risks and possible side effects that should be discussed with your doctor before the procedure.
