Free life-long dental care
We offer appointments covered by the Estonian Health Insurance Fund.
Who is eligible for free life-long dental care?
Adults who belong to the following groups may be eligible for free life-long dental care funded by the Health Insurance Fund:
- people with physical or mental special needs who are unable to take care of their own oral hygiene, even with assistance and guidance;
- people with certain oncological or haematological diagnoses.
Eligibility for free dental care depends on the person’s health condition and the criteria established by the Health Insurance Fund. More detailed information about the eligibility criteria is available on the Health Insurance Fund’s website.
The right to free life-long dental care is determined by the patient’s family physician or a medical specialist (excluding dentists), who assesses whether the patient’s health condition meets the established criteria.
How to book an appointment?
Before booking a dental appointment, please make sure that a physician has determined the patient’s eligibility for free dental care and that this right has taken effect in the Health Insurance Fund’s system. Eligibility can be checked on the state portal eesti.ee under the service “Information on dental care and denture services”.
When booking an appointment, please describe the reason for the visit and any needs arising from the patient’s special needs. It is important for us to know about the patient’s mobility, communication abilities, ability to cooperate during dental treatment, previous dental care experiences, and whether assistance from an accompanying person or caregiver may be required. This information helps us assess the conditions under which dental treatment can be provided and how best to arrange the appointment.
