Sexual health

At Confido, both men and women are received by our experienced urologists, who specialise in the diseases of the urinary tract and reproductive organs – both congenital disorders and acquired diseases (tumors, kidney stone disease, enlarged prostate, urinary incontinence, traumas).

Our gynaecologists help women from puberty to menopause with treatment and prevention. You are welcome to make an appointment for a gynaecological examination, choosing or inserting a suitable contraceptive device, performing specific examinations or tests, determining causes of infertility, or treating menopausal symptoms.

Colorectal surgeon, also known as proctologist, focuses on colon, rectum, and anus problems, and is also an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of hemorrhoids.

Important to know

Consultation with a gynaecologist

A women’s health specialist or gynaecologist specialises in the anatomical and physiological particularities of women, the prevention of women’s diseases and sexually transmitted infections, family planning issues, prevention and detection of pregnancies, and supportive therapy during menopause.

Many women’s diseases are hard to detect in early stages, with more serious symptoms emerging only in later stages. The only way for early detection is regular examinations and tests. This is why you should attend regular checkups with your women’s health specialist.

It is recommended to have your first consultation with a gynaecologist before you first start having sex. Afterwards, you should attend a regular examination at least once a year. If you have a gynaecological disease or belong to a high-risk group, you should have more frequent examinations, as agreed with your women’s health specialist. The price of the initial consultation is 55 euros, and thereafter 50 euros for future visits regarding the same issue.

Consultation with an urologist

An urologist specialises in the diseases of men’s urinary tract and reproductive organs, and women’s urinary tract – both congenital disorders and acquired diseases (tumors, kidney stone disease, enlarged prostate, urinary incontinence, traumas).

Confido’s experienced urologists Dr Toomas Tamm and Dr Aare Mehik help you determine if you may need any specific examinations or tests or surgical treatment. The consultation also includes an ultrasound examination of the kidneys, bladder, or prostate, as necessary.

Dr. Tamm specializes in the pharmacological and surgical treatment of voiding disorders and incontinence. If necessary, he will work out a treatment and action plan, including referrals to appropriate medical institutions and doctors, and recommendations to prevent aggravation of your condition. We recommend that you see our urologist for the regular follow-up of tumors of the urinary and reproductive tract. In the case of recurring kidney stone disease, we will help perform metabolism tests to clarify its causes. The price of the consultation is 100 euros.

Female infertility consultation

At Confido, infertility issues are handled by our experienced gynaecologist Dr. Ailen Aluri. Because the causes of infertility often lie in the hormonal system, we also have on call a highly experienced endocrinologist, Dr. Tatjana Toomsoo.

First of all, the woman is thoroughly interviewed regarding her previous pregnancies, menstrual cycle, health, previous illnesses, lifestyle, etc. Then there is a general physical examination and a pelvic examination carried out, including vaginal and cervical swabs and ultrasound imaging if applicable. Ultrasound imaging helps estimate the time of ovulation with sufficient accuracy and confirm if ovulation takes place. Acquiring evidence of ovulation cycles is especially important when treating couples for infertility.

In the case of infertility, blood tests for sex hormones are also performed. These play an important role in estimating ovarian reserve and determining the reasons of anovulation (the absence of ovulation). Some of the blood samples need to be taken on certain days in the menstrual cycle. The price of the consultation is 55 euros.

Consultation with a colorectal surgeon

Proctological disorders are often uncomfortable and frightening but a consultation with an experienced doctor can prevent long-lasting symptoms. A colorectal surgeon most often diagnoses and treats hemorrhoids (i.e. swollen veins in lower rectum) that can cause stinging, bleeding, itchiness and pain in the rectum area. The doctor also focuses on various other colon and rectal problems. The experienced doctor diagnoses the cause of the problem and recommends a treatment.

During the consultation, the doctor will carry out an examination and if needed, recommends further exams. Even though, it is a delicate and frightening problem, do not fear the examination.

The doctor welcomes men and women above the age of 18. Referral is not necessary. The price of the consultation is 100 euros.

Good to know:

  • Administering an enema is not necessary before the appointment, however, a regular bowel movement in the morning is recommended.
  • If needed, a brief digital rectal exam or anoscopy will be carried out on a specific chair.
  • We also have a pharmacy in our building. If you are prescribed any remedies for your problems, you can buy the medicine from downstairs.

Consultation with an endocrinologist

An endocrinologist specialises in the disorders of endocrine glands (pituitary gland, thyroid gland, adrenal glands, male and female reproductive glands, and pancreas).

A woman’s hormonal balance forms the basis for leading a full and high-quality life in all phases. Problems conceiving, irregular menstrual cycles, and menopausal symptoms may require intervention led by an endocrinologist. If our GPs, gynaecologist, or other medical specialists have concerns which need to be resolved by an endocrinologist, they will consult our endocrinologist or refer you to her.

Confido’s endocrinologist Dr Tatjana Toomsoo provides consultation, diagnosis, and treatment of endocrine disorders, and will refer you to additional tests or examinations if necessary. The price of the consultation is 70 euros.

Consultation with a women’s health physiotherapist

Women’s health physiotherapist focuses on weak and flexible pelvic floor muscles that happen due to pregnancy, childbirth, gynaecological surgeries or menopause. The physiotherapist is also expert in perineal tears and related pains and movement issues.

During the first consultation, the physiotherapist evaluates abdominal and pelvic floor muscles with electromyography and ultrasound, and assesses the overall problem. Based on the assessment, the physiotherapist suggests an action and therapy plan. To achieve lasting results, specific exercises need to be practiced regularly at home.

We suggest turning to a physiotherapist if:

  • you experience urine leakage, involuntary gas or issues with incontinence
  • pain in the pelvic area
  • feel pain in the genital area after childbirth (while resting, moving, during intercourse, or during gynaecological observation)
  • intercourse is numb or uncomfortable
  • experience pelvic organ prolapses

  • Before first consultation, we will send you a questionnaire that helps the physiotherapist to assess your problem. If you have recently given birth, turn to a physiotherapist after your postnatal gynaecological checkup.

Please fill in the questionnaire before coming to the first consultation. Please download the questionnaire, fill it in, and then send it to us, or alternatively, print it out, fill it in, and take it with you for the consultation.
