Therapists and specialists

Confido offers the services of dedicated professionals — specialists, therapists, masseuses — who help to solve both your emotional and physical concerns.

Our therapies provide relief for several health concerns, assist in releasing tensions and relaxing your body, mind and soul.

If you visit our clinical psychologist and speech therapist with an accompanying letter from your family doctor, then the national health insurance fund will cover the costs partially. You will only have to pay a small fee.

Important to know

  • The actual massage duration is typically five to ten minutes shorter than your booking. A few minutes are reserved both before and after the session to account for changing clothes, relaxing the mind, and re-emerging from your therapeutic state.
  • You need to book an appointment in advance in order to come to the therapy.
  • Please arrive ten minutes before the appointment.
  • Carefully analyse your complaints and find out when did they start and how have they changed in time.
  • If you happen to have previous case-related test results in your possession, take them along with you.

Consultation with a mental health nurse

A mental health nurse is a specialist with particular skills and knowledge who is competent, on the basis of a mental health disorder, to assess one’s state of health and analyse health risks, advise a patient and their loved ones, and develop everyday means of coping.

A mental health nurse works closely with the treating doctor (incl. psychiatrists), psychologists and other specialists, where the most suitable and effective solution is found for a person’s health problems by applying different knowledge.

We suggest turning to a mental health nurse for an initial consultation in order to specify one’s state of health and receive suggestions for where to turn next.

A mental health nurse can:

  • Explain different kinds of therapy and make suggestions for further care
  • Give health advice to a patient and their loved ones on the basis of a mental disorder, explain techniques for self-help (i.e. relaxation techniques, lifestyle counseling, breathing exercises, etc.)
  • Counsel on everyday coping (i.e. in the case of dementia)
  • Give information about medications, instruct how to follow a course of treatment, monitor blood tests, assess the necessity of adjusting treatment

The consultation fee is 40 euros, duration is 60 minutes.

Neuropsychologist More about the specialist »

Consultation with a neuropsychologist

A neuropsychologist specialises in understanding the relationship between the physical brain and behaviour, and also evaluates and diagnoses people with brain disorders. A neuropsychologist explores the effect brain injuries have on memory, speech, attention, spatial awareness and other functions affecting quality of life.

A neuropsychologist’s consultation includes a clinical interview that assesses main problems and coping difficulties and the need for neuropsychological assessment is determined. Psychological counselling helps to alleviate emotional stress, improve well-being and quality of life. The therapist also helps family and loved ones during the consultation (suitable environment and improved quality of life for the patient; advice on handling the patient’s behaviours and emotional problems).

If needed, the neuropsychologist can suggest neuropsychological or personality assessments. The test fees are added to the consultation and a new appointment is set for the tests. The consultation fee is 100 euros, duration is up to 60 minutes.

Consultation with the clinical psychologist

The clinical psychologists uses mainly the evidence-based principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy. Cognitive-behavioural therapy is a cooperation-based and goal-oriented treatment method that is trying to change a persons patterns of thought and behaviour in order to improve their emotional well-being. The clinical psychologist is qualified to work with patients with mental disorders.

We recommend visiting the clinical psychologists to treat depression, anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, sleep disorders, eating disorders, intrusive thoughts, low self-esteem, relationship problems and chronic pain. In case of chronic pain, psychological guidance can help both the patient and their family.

If you consult the clinical psychologist when your family doctor has prescribed it, the health insurance fund will cover the costs partially. This way you will only have to pay a small fee. The price for the consultation is 80 euros. The price with the GP's prescription is 45 euros.

The pace of life has become very fast and the world has diversified. A lot of people are having a hard time coping with it. Oftentimes these people are the ones society regards as successful. Luckily, more and more people think of cooperation with the psychologists as a part of life, and are brave enough to speak up.

Family therapy

Systematic family therapy is centred on the relationships and their quality of persons closest to one another. The aim of family therapy is to support understanding between people, emotional support and intimacy.

Often people need support, when coping with changes that occur during life (birth of a child, going to kindergarten/school, adolescence, independence of a young adult, divorce, loss of a family member, grief etc.). Such developmental crisis may cause problems, for example, anxiety and depression, overworking, stress, eating disorders, different addictions, domestic violence, problems related to sexuality, as well as psychic, behavioural and educational problems of children and youths.

Passing through these stages in life, creates a need for redistributing roles and duties, as well as changes in care and emotional intimacy. Children and youth are especially sensitive.

Family therapy treats a family as a system, where changes in one part cause changes throughout the system. A family therapist helps provoke change in the system to be cured. Changes may occur in the behaviour of family members, emotional or psychic conditions, relationships or the general functioning of the family.

Good to know

  • Family therapy takes place predominately in the form of conversation, in which all family members have the possibility to express themselves openly and make themselves heard.
  • The therapy often includes, for better results, all close ones of significance.
  • We recommend that children turn to family therapy first with their parents or that all other closest relatives turn together.
  • It is important to go through the entire therapy process, in order to achieve lasting change. The required number of sessions depends on the aims set and may vary from one time per week to one session per one to two months.

The cost of therapy is 90 euros and duration 90 minutes.

Coaching is action-oriented collaboration that focuses on where you are now and how to get to your desired goals, instead of focusing on past behaviours as psychotherapy does.

A coach helps you to stay on your chosen route, collaborating through objectivity, honesty, structured behaviours, responsibility, open-minded thinking, and support. In return, your coach expects you to fully commit to your teamwork, to be open to new ideas and approaches, and to fulfill given promises.

Coaching is a beneficial investment if you wish to understand your career and personal life choices, to set yourself measurable goals, to set a plan to achieve your set goals, and to accept challenges. Coaching costs 90 euros, the duration is 1 hour.

Doctor’s referral is not needed to visit an optometrist and anyone above the age of 16 can register for a visit, if they wish to check their eyesight, need prescription lenses, or wish to adjust their prescription.

When coming in for a consult, please bring existing glasses and a previous prescription. These help the optometrist understand if and how the eyesight has changed over time.

Consultation with a speech therapist

A speech therapist deals with communication disorders, that is, identifies, eliminates or alleviates the problems arising in the production and comprehension of oral and written speech. A child learning how to speak or one already going to school may need the help of a speech therapist, but adults as well. The most common problems for turning to a speech therapist are various articulation disorders, speech impediments and problems related to the acquisition of writing and reading skills.

We recommend children and adults with speech disorders and reading and writing problems to see our speech therapist. The sooner those in need of help see a speech therapist, the faster their speech improves or the better they manage their reading or writing problems. This, in turn, allows them to better cope with their daily and school life.

If you notice any of your close ones (regardless of their age) having any deficiencies in communication, please come and consult with our speech therapist. It is never too early for that and ever too often, problems do not just resolve on their own, but need the help of a specialist. The price of the consultation is 50 euros. When referred by your GP, you will pay a deductible of 30 euros.
