Dr Ülla Linnamägi

Neurologist

Dr Ülla Linnamägi graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Tartu (1986), completed her residency in neurology and has worked at the Neurology Clinic of Tartu University Hospital as a teaching physician since 2001. She has worked at the neurology departments of Rennes University Hospital in France as well as Uppsala University. Dr Linnamägi is a member of several professional organisations, e.g. the Estonian Society of Neurologists & Neurosurgeons, the Estonian Headache Society and others. As a neurologist, she helps people with all neurological problems, but her specialist interest is Alzheimer’s disease. Her goal as a physician is to find the path to the person and the root cause of their concerns and help them understand what is happening to them and in their brain. Together, they can then determine the best treatment or solution. But the most satisfying thing is when you can say that a person does not have a neurological disease.

Neurology is one of the most complicated fields of medicine because the brain is the most mysterious part of the human being. My goal as a physician is to find the path to the person and the root cause of their disease or concerns and help them understand what is happening to them and inside their brain. Together, we will try to find the best solution and treatment. My principal area of interest is the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, but I want to help people with all types of neurological diseases.

I have had the opportunity and pleasure to carry out further training events myself at the University of Tartu on topics such as Alzheimer’s disease, acute and chronic pain and alcohol damage to the nervous system.

About me

I believe that the hardships we endure in life make us stronger. I’m a positive person and believe in kindness and that love helps us live and gives us the strength to bear all our burdens. My motto is: help yourself and God will help you. This knowledge can offer reassurance when coping with several nerve diseases. I also find peace of mind and joy in children, good music, local forests and the sea in all its shades.
