Marika Tamm became a Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher at Himalaya Yoga Valley and furthered her education in Bali, Indonesia. She came to practice yoga through a knee injury, which would not heal or get better. The yoga helped, her knee regained mobility and healed, and that is when Marika became interested in understanding how it happened. Through research, reading and learning, one thing led to another, and a lifelong economist became a yoga teacher. Even now, Marika is constantly improving herself: she has completed yoga trainings in Ireland and Italy and studied human anatomy and physiology at the Academy of Public Health. Marika takes a special interest is neuroscience, i.e. how the human brain works, and how yoga can be used to influence the nervous system in a more conscious way, thereby improving human functioning.
