Prosthetic consultation (including dental crowning)

Look for appointment times

Prosthesis benefit available.

Dental prosthetics is a treatment for replacing missing teeth or prolonging the life of severely damaged teeth using different types of dental prostheses or crowns.

During the prosthetic consultation, the dentist examines the condition of the patient’s oral cavity, gums, and teeth, discusses the prosthetic options, and prepares a treatment plan together with the patient.

The consultation also includes X-rays. It is possible to take small X-rays, panoramic images, or detailed cone beam computed tomography scans. Additional fees apply for necessary extra services.

Dental prostheses

Missing teeth can be replaced with removable, fixed, or combined prostheses. The most suitable type of prosthesis is chosen together by the dentist and the patient.

  • Removable prostheses can be partial or complete dentures that help restore chewing function and clarity of speech.
  • Fixed prostheses include, for example, crowns and bridge prostheses, which are permanently attached to existing teeth or implants.
  • Combined prostheses merge the features of fixed and removable prostheses to provide the best possible solution. They are suitable for patients who still have some strong tooth roots or implants in place.

Dental crowning

At Confido we also offer dental crowns. Crowns help restore the shape, strength, and aesthetics of teeth that are extensively damaged or worn. We use high-quality materials, such as ceramics and metal-ceramics, to ensure durable and natural results.

Crowns are suitable for:

  • broken teeth or teeth with large fillings,
  • strengthening root canal–treated teeth,
  • making aesthetic improvements.

How dental prosthetics work?

1. Initial consultation

During the initial consultation, the condition of the oral cavity, gums, and teeth is checked. The dentist introduces prosthetic options and, together with the patient, chooses the most suitable solution. X-rays and, if necessary, photos and a digital scan are also taken.

2. Preparation of a treatment plan and price offer

The dentist prepares a treatment plan and a cost estimate, which the patient can review before starting prosthetics.

3. Preparations

If necessary, other treatments are performed before prosthetics, such as removing teeth with a hopeless prognosis, root canal treatment, or tooth preparation for crowns.

4. Taking dental impressions

The dentist takes precise impressions of the patient’s mouth to prepare a prosthesis that fits perfectly. This ensures a good fit and natural appearance.

5. Prosthesis manufacturing and trial fitting

The prosthesis is sent to a dental laboratory for manufacturing, which usually takes a few weeks. After that, the patient is called in for a trial fitting to check comfort and appearance.

6. Prosthesis installation

The finished prosthesis is placed in the mouth and adjusted if necessary to ensure maximum comfort. The patient is also instructed on proper cleaning and maintenance.

7. Follow-up visits

After the prosthesis is fitted, the patient is invited for follow-ups to ensure everything is in place and functioning properly. Adjustments can be made during these visits if necessary.

After prosthesis installation

  • In the first days, discomfort may occur, which is normal, as the mouth and mucous membranes need time to adjust.
  • If the prosthesis causes rubbing or soreness, contact the clinic for adjustments.
  • Chewing may initially be difficult, eating soft food or cutting food into smaller pieces is recommended. Eating will become easier over time.
  • Excessive salivation may occur at first.

Daily care

  • Removable prostheses must be cleaned daily using a special prosthesis brush and cleaner. Regular toothpaste can damage the surface.
  • Oral hygiene is essential: clean the oral mucosa and remaining teeth carefully.
  • For fixed prostheses (such as crowns and bridges), we recommend using dental floss or special aids (such as interdental brushes) to clean hard-to-reach areas.

We accept patients from the age of 16.

We kindly ask you to fill in a health questionnaire before your appointment, which will be included in your booking confirmation.
