Look for appointment timesA dentist consultation includes a preventative oral examination and an assessment of the teeth and gums through visual examination.
A professional dentist will perform a comprehensive examination of your teeth: they will check the condition of your teeth, screen for decay (cavities), assess the condition of previously placed fillings and check the health of your gums. The aim of the consultation is to make sure that there are no infections or teeth in need of treatment.
If necessary, X-ray scans will be performed in addition to the consultation (small X-rays and panoramic X-rays as well as comprehensive computed tomography scans can be performed). After gathering the necessary information, the dentist will identify which teeth need treatment, give an estimate of the approximate cost, and prepare a further treatment plan together with the patient. Any further examinations are subject to an additional fee.
We recommend preventative dental check-ups every six months to avoid dental health deterioration and to catch any potential diseases in time. This will help you save both time and money in the future, as problems are easier to solve if they are identified early.
Consultations and caries treatment services are also performed by trainee dentists for both children and adults in Tartu Confido Dental clinic. A trainee dentist is a 5th and final year student who has acquired the necessary clinical work experience to provide patients with good quality dental care. Trainee dentist is supervised every day by a dentist in the clinic. Consultation and caries treatment services by a trainee dentist are 20% cheaper from a full price.
Please note that our dental clinics do not have a valid Health Insurance contract for adult dental care.
Before the consultation:
- Make sure you don’t have any upper respiratory infections to protect the healthcare workers. Swallowing is also more difficult when you are sick.
- We recommend cleaning your teeth and mouth before your appointment. Confido also has hygiene facilities where you can brush your teeth with your own supplies. We also have disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste available.
- Carefully fill in the pre-appointment questionnaire and feel free to tell us about any other medical conditions you have and your daily medications in order to make the dental treatment as effective as possible.
Contraindications:
- Upper respiratory infections (e.g. influenza, COVID-19 virus)
- Oral herpes
Please note that the dentist’s consultation includes a dental check-up and an oral cavity inspection. If you need treatment, please book a treatment service.
