At Confido, we offer the option of dental treatment under general anesthesia for both children (from 3 years old) and adults who, for various reasons, are unable to undergo dental procedures in the usual manner.

Main reasons for performing dental treatment under general anesthesia:

• severe fear of dental procedures
• physical or mental disability preventing quality dental care
• increased gag reflex
• previous negative experience with dental treatment
• need to treat or remove multiple teeth at once
• wisdom tooth extraction under general anesthesia

Prior to treatment under general anesthesia, a consultation is conducted where the dentist explains the process of dental treatment under anesthesia and determines which procedures are necessary and to what extent. Additionally, a dental X-ray is required before the procedure. Based on the collected data, a precise treatment plan is established.

Before the operation blood tests are required. The timing of the operation will be arranged with you by the Confido operation centre assistant.

The following dental procedures are performed under general anesthesia:

For children:

• dental treatment
• tooth extraction (including wisdom teeth)
• correction of lip and tongue frenulum
• root canal treatment

For adults:

• dental treatment
• implantation
• tooth extraction (including wisdom teeth)
• root canal treatment

For parents:

At Confido, we offer parents the opportunity to stay with their child in the operating room until the anesthesia begins and the child falls asleep. This helps reduce anxiety for both the child and the parent, leading to better results of the treatment. After the operation, the parent can join the child in the recovery room at the earliest opportunity.
