A dental implant is a metal screw that essentially replaces a natural tooth root. It is one of the safest, most aesthetic, and natural-looking ways to replace a missing or extracted tooth.
At Confido Dental Clinics, we use Megagen and Straumann implants.

Advantages of dental implants:

Stages of implant placement:

1. Initial consultation. The dentist evaluates the condition of your mouth and gums and performs necessary diagnostic tests: oral photos, digital scanning, and X-rays. Based on the collected data, a treatment plan with approximate costs is created.
2. Bone augmentation or tooth extraction. Bone augmentation is necessary if there is a history of jaw trauma or periodontal disease. These can lead to reduced jawbone volume, making immediate implantation impossible without sufficient bone tissue.
   Implant placement. The implant is placed under local anesthesia, and the procedure is typically quick. The implant usually integrates with the bone within 4–8 months. However, healing time is individual.
3. Crown fabrication
4. After the implant has fully integrated, a functional and aesthetic crown is made.
5. Crown placement on the implant

Implant care:

• regular dental check-ups are essential to monitor healing and implant integration with a jaw bone
• professional teeth cleaning helps ensure long-term implant stability
• for the best outcome, avoid tobacco products.
• avoid very hard foods or using teeth to open packages – excessive force may damage the implant.

In addition, it is important to follow all medical instructions to ensure the best results from the implant procedure.

Contraindications:

• chronic smoking (including snuff use)
• immunodeficiency
• chronic illnesses – during consultation, you can discuss whether your condition might affect or contraindicate implantation.
