CO₂ laser rejuvenation
The DEKA SmartXide CO₂ laser is an advanced fractional carbon dioxide laser designed for skin rejuvenation, rejuvenation and scar treatment. This technology combines the deep penetration of a CO₂ laser with fractional energy delivery to stimulate skin renewal and collagen production. The procedure results in a significant improvement in skin texture, tone and elasticity with minimal recovery time.
How does it work?
The CO₂ laser delivers a high-energy microscopic laser beams, creating controlled micro-injuries to the skin’s surface. This process removes dead skin cells, stimulating collagen production and promoting skin renewal. Fractional technology alslows for precise treatment of targeted areas with adjustable depth and intensity, while preserving surrounding healthy tissue. This results in faster healing and less discomfort compared to traditional CO₂ lasers.
Key benefits
- Skin rejuvenation: reduces wrinkles, fine lines, and uneven skin tone.
- Scar reduction: improves acne scars, surgical scars, and stretch marks.
- Pigmentation correction: treats sun damage, age spots, and hyperpigmentation.
- Tightening and firming: stimulates collagen to enhance skin elasticity.
- Minimal downtime: fractional technology allows for faster recovery compared to full-field CO₂ lasers.
To start with the procedure, book an appointment for a laser resurfacing consultation, during which the doctor will assess the suitability of laser resurfacing, possible results, perform a thorough skin analysis, explain everything related to the procedure, and provide instructions for proper home skin care.
What are the contraindications for the procedure?
- Oncological diseases, epilepsy, melasma, keloid scars and active inflammations, including herpes
- Tanned skin – avoid sunbathing for at least 4 to 6 weeks before the treatment, including going to the solarium
- The treatment is not carried out during an antibiotic course, and three to four weeks must have passed since the last time you took the medication
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Tattoos in the treatment area
- For those under 18 years of age, the procedure is performed only with the consent of a parent or guardian
Contraindications are relative and the final decision on the procedure is made by the specialist during the personal examination and consultation before the treatment.
What should you take into consideration before and after the procedure?
- Consult the doctor to assess the suitability of the procedure.
- After the procedure, redness, flushing, swelling, dryness and scaling of the treated skin may occur, usually for 3–10 days. To reduce the feeling of flushing, heat and swelling, a cold compress can be applied to the skin (only cold from the refrigerator, not from the freezer!).
- Avoid touching the treated area on the day of the procedure.
- Avoid using makeup products for 2-3 days after the procedure.
- Avoid going to the sauna and swimming pool for 2 weeks after the procedure.
- Avoid active sports for 2 weeks after the procedure.
- Avoid tanning for at least 6 weeks after the procedure.
- Apply the recommended aftercare cream to the skin after the procedure.
- Avoid skin care products containing irritating and active ingredients (e.g. retinol, AHAs, BHAs) until the skin has fully healed.
- Use a topical sunscreen SPF50 for 2 months after the procedure to prevent pigmentation. To prolong the results of the treatment, use sunscreen all year round.
- Peeling and skin renewal occur during the first week. Full collagen regeneration continues over the next several months, with optimal results visible after 3-6 months.
