Men’s health package provides an initial overview of the current state of a man’s health.
Detailed analyses and examinations help to assess the most common health risks (cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypo- or hyperfunction of the thyroid gland, prostate cancer, colorectal cancer, testosterone level, etc.). 

At the appointment with the urologist and general practitioner, the results and their relation to lifestyle are assessed (for example: irregular and unhealthy diet, lack of physical activity, excessive alcohol consumption, overwork, insufficient rest and sleep), individual recommendations are given maintaining or improving health, and, if necessary, referral is made for additional examinations.

Appointment with a nurse

Measurement of blood pressure, weight, height, waist circumference, body mass index BMI, AUDIT test (test for assessing alcohol consumption) 

Analyses

Hemogram with 5-part leukogram
  • Provides an overview of the blood’s oxygen transport capacity.
  • Allows assessment of the body’s defense against pathogens.
  • Helps assess the presence of many diseasese.g. anemia, infectious diseases, inflammations, bleeding disorders, hematological diseases, etc.
  • Allows indirect assessment of fluid balance in the body. 
Glycated hemoglobin HbA1c
  • Helps assess the increased risk of developing diabetes.
C-reactive protein (high sensitivity) CRP
  • Allows detection of inflammations in the body.
  • Helps assess the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Cholesterol
  • Helps assess the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases.
LDL cholesterol
  • Together with cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, and triglycerides, allows assessment of lipid metabolism, “bad cholesterol”.

HDL cholesterol

Gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT)
  • For detection of liver diseases and monitoring of treatment.
Alanine aminotransferase (ALAT)
  • Allows assessment of the condition of liver cells.
Creatinine (eGFR)
  • Helps assess the kidneysability to remove waste from the body.
  • Indicates physical activity level of a person.
Uric acid
  • For diagnosis of gout and evaluation of treatment.
  • For monitoring kidney failure, blood diseases, psoriasis, etc.
Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH)
  • Allows assessment of thyroid function.
Ferritin
  • Shows iron reserves in the body.
  • Helps assess anemia.
  • Helps assess possible causes of excessive fatigue.
Vitamin B12
  • Necessary for normal functioning of the nervous system and cell renewal.
  • Helps assess the presence and cause of anemia.
  • Balances processes in the body under stress (energy production, immune system, body detoxification).
  • Participates in removal of the toxic waste product homocysteine from cells, thus protecting blood vessel walls, preventing cardiovascular diseases, Alzheimer’s disease, and dementia.
Vitamin D (25-OH)
  • Necessary for calcium absorption and therefore for ensuring strong bones and teeth.
  • Important for muscle work and coordination.
  • Necessary for the functioning of the immune system.
Testosterone
  • The analysis helps assess infertility, potency, and the risk of developing certain diseases.
Triglycerides
  • Together with cholesterol, HDL and LDL cholesterol, allows assessment of lipid metabolism.
  • Helps assess the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases; elevated level is an important risk factor.
PSA
  • Helps assess the risk of prostate cancer.
  • Contributes to the diagnosis of prostate inflammation and benign prostatic enlargement.
Folate
  • Folate deficiency manifests as anemia, which may be accompanied by neurological, psychiatric, and sensory disorders.
Urine strip analysis
  • Allows detection of infectious and non-infectious diseases of the kidneys and urinary tract, monitoring the course of disease.
  • Helps monitoring the course and complications of diabetes.
Urine Microbiological Examination
  • Necessary in case of suspected urinary tract infection (e.g., cystitis, pyelonephritis).
  • Helps to detect whether bacteria or fungi are present in the urine.
  • Helps to determine which microorganism is causing the infection.
  • Helps to assess the number of microorganisms.
  • Helps to choose appropriate antibiotic therapy, as sensitivity testing is also performed.
Faecal occult blood
  • Helps assess gastrointestinal bleeding and is used as a screening method for early diagnosis of colon and rectal cancer.

ECG

ECG allows to assess:

  • heart rhythm and heart rate;
  • disturbances in blood supply to the heart muscle (myocardial ischemia);
  • myocardial infarction (acute or past heart attack);
  • overload and enlargement of heart chambers.

Ultrasound examination of abdominal and pelvic area

Ultrasound of the abdominal cavity and pelvic organs helps to assess the structure of organs, observe and measure their shape, size, and structure. The examination also helps to notice abnormalities and detect diseases.

Urologist’s appointment

At the urologist’s appointment, special focus is given to issues related to men’s health. The doctor summarizes the analyses and examinations included in the package that are important specifically for assessing men’s health (e.g. prostate health, condition of the urinary tract). At the appointment, a detailed overview of possible risks and recommendations to help prevent various health problems is given. In case of suspicion of a serious illness, referral to additional examinations is made.

General practitioner’s consultation in Confido DigiClinic (general health summary)

At the remote consultation in DigiClinic, the general practitioner explains all analyses related to general health and gives practical advice for maintaining health and improving lifestyle.

Before the visit

  • Instructions for faecal occult blood test. The sample container can be obtained at the nurse’s appointment on site and the sample can be brought when coming to the doctor’s appointment.
  • On the day before blood sampling, you may eat and drink as usual, but should limit alcohol, coffee, and fatty foods. For 10–14 hours before blood sampling, do not eat or drink (except plain still water) and do not urinate for 3–4 hours.

NB! The package and the services included in it can be used within 12 months from the date of the first booking. Money is not refunded for an incomplete package and services are not exchanged.
