Shockwave Therapy (Rehabilitation)
Look for appointment timesShockwave therapy is an effective and evidence-based treatment method used to relieve acute and chronic muscle and tendon disorders, pain syndromes, and joint problems. The therapy is based on directing high-energy acoustic waves to the affected area, which stimulates the body’s natural healing processes.
Shockwaves accelerate metabolism and tissue regeneration and help reduce inflammation and pain. As a result, recovery is faster, mobility improves, and pain symptoms are significantly reduced.
Indications
- Shoulder joint pain, tendinitis, and calcifications
- Tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow
- Achilles tendon disorders
- Overuse syndromes of the hip and knee tendons
- Muscle tension and myofascial trigger points
- Plantar fasciitis and heel spur
Results
Initial improvements may appear after the first session, but the best results are achieved during a treatment course. The effects of the therapy may continue for weeks after the final session, as tissue healing continues.
Shockwave therapy is not performed in cases of:
- Acute infection or inflammation
- Pregnancy (on the abdominal area and spine)
- Blood clotting disorders or anticoagulant therapy
- Bone fractures
Before starting shockwave therapy, consultation with a physician or a qualified physiotherapist is recommended. For maximum effectiveness, the therapy is often combined with other physiotherapy or manual therapy methods.
NB! The service price includes treatment of one area; additional areas are subject to an extra fee.
