Dr Erve Sõõru has graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tartu (1993), completed residency in pulmnology (2002), has been awarded a professional somnologist certificate by the European Sleep Research Society (2013) and is a European sleep medicine expert. In addition, she is a doctoral student of health care technology at Tallinn University of Technology. Erve is a member of several professional organisations and the founder and president of the Estonian Sleep Medicine Association. Dr Sõõru has worked at major hospitals in Tartu and Tallinn as a sleep doctor and pulmonologist and has repeatedly participated in clinical trials as a researcher. The doctor is particularly interested in sleep breathing disorders and their diagnostics and treatment as the study of a person’s sleep may reveal first signs of a serious illness.
