Marje Altrov started working as a midwife in 2012, and has extensive experience working with pregnant, giving birth and postpartum women and their families. Since then, she has also been a member of the Estonian Midwives Association and regularly participates in the association’s training courses and professional work. In 2019, Marje Altrov became a member of the Estonian Sexual Health Association and has since participated in various association training courses and has worked as a youth counselor since 2020. Today, Marje Altrov is studying for a master’s degree in applied behavioral science at the University of Tartu.
Marje Altrov has also completed a comprehensive training course as a sexual counselor at the Finnish Foundation Sexpo. Based on her professional background, Marje is most often approached with concerns regarding changes in sexual interest (including changes in desire due to the use of contraceptives, pregnancy, childbirth and menopause), discomfort with one’s body image or feelings (including erectile dysfunction, painful intercourse), and a lack of knowledge regarding various sexual practices (including the impact of pornography on relationships, safe ways to expand sexual practices).
