Dr. Rasmus Allikvee’s main professional interests are spinal deformities in children, teenagers, and adults, but in his daily clinical work, he deals with pathologies of the entire thoracic and lumbar spine.
Nowadays, more and more spinal surgeries can be performed using minimally invasive techniques, and Dr. Allikvee is one of the first practitioners of robotic surgery in Estonia and the surrounding region.
He also considers the training of young colleagues and the development of the specialty to be important. From 2016 to 2018, Dr. Allikvee was the representative of AOSpine in the Baltic States, and since 2012, he has been involved in organizing AOSpine training courses in the Baltic States and Scandinavia.
Dr. Rasmus Allikvee has also worked at the Spine Surgery Center at East Tallinn Central Hospital since 2009.
