Doris Madissoon

Psychiatrist

Dr Doris Madissoon graduated from the University of Tartu Faculty of Medicine as a medical doctor in 2012 and completed a residency in psychiatry in 2016. She has completed basic training in circuit therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and family therapy. Dr Madissoon regularly takes part in domestic and international training events and has work experience mainly in the field of mood and anxiety disorders, but also in alcohol and drug addiction, personality disorders and memory disorders. As a doctor, she considers it important to take a holistic approach, taking into consideration the accompanying health problems and their impact on the psyche.

The depths of the human soul have always fascinated me. As a child, I was amazed at how many other people’s stories and experiences surrounded me. As a psychiatrist, I consider it important to inform the patient about the nature of the disorder and the treatment options and to make treatment decisions together. I believe that childhood experiences play an important role in our thought patterns and behaviours and are often the foundation of mental health problems.
