Lauri Pihkva

Psychologist Lauri Pihkva has 20 years of experience in psychological counselling and training for adults. He has contributed to the development and implementation of treatment programmes for alcohol, tobacco and drug addiction and has supported people with addiction problems through both individual and group work. In addition to addiction-related concerns, Lauri helps people cope with anxiety, stress, burnout and difficult emotions.

He also provides counselling on topics related to sexuality, intimacy and relationships, including differences in sexual desire, reduced intimacy and recurring patterns of tension in relationships.

Lauri is a certified mindfulness trainer and sexual counsellor and is currently completing training in systemic family and couples therapy. In his work, he also uses methods from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI) and solution-focused therapy.

Lauri is a member of the Estonian Family Therapy Association and the Estonian Sexual Health Association. He has extensive experience as a trainer and has conducted training on stress and emotion regulation for, among others, military officers as well as prison staff and inmates.
