Dr Katrina Aavik graduated from medical school in 2013. After working as a general practitioner for a year, she began her residency in gastroenterology, which she completed in 2022. She is a member of the Estonian Society of Gastroenterology, the Estonian Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the Tallinn Medical Association, and the Estonian Coeliac Society. She regularly attends major European conferences in the fields of gastroenterology and endoscopy.
As a gastroenterologist, her main area of interest is endoscopic procedures. When performing procedures, she considers good communication with the patient particularly important in order to minimise any potential discomfort associated with the procedure.
