Dr. Merle Rokk is a dedicated rehabilitation physician who considers continuous self-improvement both in Estonia and abroad to be very important in her work, but most importantly, she values listening to patients, assessing their condition, and taking an individual approach to the choice of treatment methods. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tartu in 1991, completed her residency in rehabilitation medicine in 2006, and has since worked at the University of Tartu Hospital and the University of Tartu. Dr. Rokk is competent in the rehabilitation of various functional disorders and performs several treatment procedures himself, such as intra-articular injections, dry needling to relieve pain and muscle tension, orthopedic manual therapy, and kinesiology taping. He has extensive experience in botulinum toxin injections, which can be used to treat spasticity and excessive sweating caused by damage to the nervous system, as well as to prevent and reduce the signs of aging. Nothing can be achieved in rehabilitation without the patient’s contribution, which is even more important than the treatment procedures performed by specialists. The patient must understand what is happening to them and the causes of their complaints, and success can only be achieved through good cooperation.
