Vaccination against SARS coronavirus

How does vaccination work?

We welcome all Estonian residents starting from the age of 5 to vaccinate. Please bring a personal identification document with you to the vaccination! In addition, we vaccinate war refugees from Ukraine but this is carried out ONLY at Töökoja 1, Tallinn.

  • Be there PRECISELY at the scheduled time for vaccination. If you arrive late, the patients after you will also be affected.
  • A mask must be worn when coming to vaccinate. If you have fallen ill please let us know by calling 1330.
  • The vaccine is injected into a muscle in the upper arm. To ensure a smooth vaccination, we recommend that you dress so that you can easily expose your upper arm.
  • You have to register yourself before receiving a dose of the vaccine: your personal identification will be checked, someone will answer your questions and you will be given a vaccination leaflet to read. You can take the leaflet home with you if you wish.
  • We ask you to sign a consent form in order to receive the vaccine dose.
  • A trained nurse will then administer the vaccinate.
  • Take into consideration that you will need to be monitored by a healthcare professional for another 15 minutes after vaccination in case you start to feel unwell afterwards.
  • Please note that the interval between the administration of COVID-19 vaccines and other vaccines is recommended to be at least 14 days.

Please note that some people may experience side effects after vaccination. Therefore, do not plan any physical exercise for the day of vaccination.

SARS coronavirus antigen test

How does it work?

The SARS coronavirus antigen test detects the presence of coronavirus-specific proteins in a sample - if the test is positive, it indicates that you are infected with the coronavirus. The test is most sensitive when the amount of the virus in the body is at its highest – usually from a few days before to around five days after the onset of symptoms.

What does it show?

A positive result indicates that you have recently contracted the coronavirus and are potentially infectious to others.

Why do it?

For the purpose of traveling or attending an event to prove you’re not contagious to others.

How is the sample collected?

From the nasopharynx with a special cotton swab.

How long does it take to get the result?

Up to 30 minutes.

Is it suitable for travelling?

Yes, to countries where an antigen test result is accepted for travel. Also suitable for attending events. The certificate is included in the price. For travel, we recommend checking the travel restrictions in the countries of destination and departure using the IATA Timatic application.

The family package is cheaper

When traveling with a family, it is possible to choose a family package (up to 4 people) at a discounted price. The antigen test family package is performed only at Confido testing points (except walk-in clinics and the main building). The testing must be performed together with the whole family and the results are sent to one person.

Locations and booking

The test can be performed at all Confido testing points and walk-in clinics all over Estonia, as well as at Tartu Raatuse Clinic. Book an appointment using the button below.

SARS coronavirus PCR quick test from nasopharynx

How does it work?

The coronavirus PCR rapid test is a test detecting viral RNA, the positive result of which confirms that you are infected with the coronavirus. The only difference with a standard PCR test is the testing speed - the result will be available within 3 hours.

What does it show?

Whether you are infected with the coronavirus and potentially infectious to others.

Why do it?

For the purpose of traveling or attending an event to prove you’re not contagious to others.

How is the sample collected?

From the nasopharynx with a special cotton swab.

How long does it take to get the result?

The results will appear in the patient portal (Digilugu) within 3 hours after testing. We will send the result by e-mail as a link.

Is it suitable for travelling?

Yes, it is suitable as a travel document or to attend an event.

Where can I do the test?

The rapid PCR test can only be performed in walk-in clinics in Lasnamäe Centrum and Rocca al Mare Centre.

Attention!

  • Wearing a mask is mandatory when taking a coronavirus test!
  • Travelers to Russia must bring their passport for testing. Driver's license is not suitable!

Quick test for detection of coronavirus antibodies (IgG and IgM)

A rapid test for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies can be used to assess whether a patient is likely to have been infected with the new coronavirus at some point. The rapid test assesses the presence of IgM- and IgG-type antibodies.

If positive (especially IgG antibodies), the patient is likely to have been infected with the new coronavirus at some point but is no longer ill or at risk of infection.

The advantages of the rapid test include its lower price and faster results. If a certificate of the antibodies test is required, we recommend an antibody test from venous blood. If antibodies are found, we cannot make promises regarding the duration of immunity against the disease.

For whom?

The rapid antibody test is only for those who have had no symptoms of the disease or exposure to COVID-19 in the last two weeks.

How testing works?

A sample is taken from finger blood. The rapid antibody test is less sensitive in the detection of antibodies than the venous blood test.

How quickly are the results available?

Test results are available within 10-15 minutes.

SARS Coronavirus Antibody analysis from venous blood (IgG)

How does it work?

Recovery from infection with SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus produces anti-viral IgG antibodies in the blood, similarly to vaccination. Two to three weeks after getting infected or as a result of vaccination, antibodies are produced and they will remain for at least six months. This test detects the presence of antibodies and, unlike the rapid test, also shows their numerical level at the time of sampling.

What does it show?

A positive result indicates recovery from COVID-19 disease, late-stage disease or the presence of antibodies resulting from vaccination.

Why do it?

If you want to know whether you have been exposed to SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. We recommend taking the quantitative test for the detection of coronavirus IgG antibodies at the earliest two to three weeks after the start of symptoms, a positive PCR test result or vaccination.

PLEASE NOTE! The IgG antibody test is not suitable for initial diagnosis of the presence of coronavirus! If a coronavirus infection is suspected, a PCR test should be done.

How is the sample collected?

The antibodies are determined from venous blood, no previous fasting is required.

How quickly will you get the result?

The next working day. You can find the results in the online portal digilugu.ee and, if necessary, you can get your test result and a certificate on paper.

Is it suitable for travelling?

No.

Where can I do the test?

In all Confido clinics.

Attention!

Wearing a mask is mandatory when taking a coronavirus test.
