A botulinum injection (such as Botox or Dysport) can only be performed by a doctor. Beauty injections (including lip fillers) use the body’s own hyaluronic acid and can also be performed by a nurse.

Types of fillers and beauty injections:

  • Botox injections or botulinum injections remove wrinkles with botulinum toxin and correct facial features
  • Filler injections or fillers correct facial features (including lips) and fill out wrinkles
  • Biorevitalisation deeply moisturises the skin with hyaluronic acid
  • Plasmalifting or plasma injections naturally rejuvenate, using the patient’s own blood plasma
  • Mesotherapy deeply moisturises the skin with vitamins, amino acids, minerals and hyaluronic acid

Additional treatments include injections against excessive sweating, microneedling collagen therapy, lipolysis and meso-threads.

Injectable fillers for lips

Look for appointment times

Injectable fillers or hyaluronic acid injections can be used in lips to add roundness, moisture, emphasise lip contour, a cupid’s bow, lift the corners of the mouth, adjust asymmetry and reduce perioral wrinkles. An uneven lip contour caused by reoccurring herpes can be made more even with injectable fillers.

With the effect of botulinum toxin, a so-called gummy smile can also be treated. The upper lip sometimes rolls inside when smiling, which in turn creates a narrow and tense upper lip. By relaxing the orbicularis oris muscle with botulinum toxin, and later adding hyaluronic acid filler to the lip, the upper lip becomes more round, will stop rolling inside and will better cover the gum area, which makes the smile more harmonious.

The correct preparation and dose will be chosen for you in cooperation with a specialist. You don’t need to fear an unnatural-looking result, the objective is to maintain your own uniqueness and naturalness by highlighting your best features. Preparations have different viscosities – there are those higher and lower concentrations of hyaluronic acid, all depending on the desired outcome.

Rhe final result can be evaluated after approximately one month. After the injection, hyaluronic acid starts to absorb water in order to essentially settle itself in. If the individual has extremely thin lips, there may be need for an additional procedure in 45-60 days in order to add more volume. In most cases, the injectable filler for lips lasts between 6-18 months, depending on the preparation and the skin’s overall condition.

The procedure is available to all adults who believe they want to improve or change some aspect of their lips. Filling the lips with hyaluronic acid is an extremely effective and safe procedure that is offered so that the individual can restore the youthfulness, symmetry and roundness of their lips.
